Fishing Report for December 15,2008.

Cold weather, low water, the middle of December, it is definitley Winter Steelhead season.

It is something to be said about a sense of accomplishment when you head out in minus temperatures and battle through that on a cold crisp day and are rewarded with a beautiful Winter Steelhead covered in sea lice fresh from the ocean.

The fish are starting to show up and have been for the past couple weeks. The biggest fresh Winter fish tipped the scales around 16lbs. We are hooking fish daily and with alot of hard work and persistance the fish seem to be there. I am quite confident that after the temperatures climb we will see our typical bigger schools to really get things into full swing.

We are booking trips daily now for the winter season, so if you are thinking of heading to the Stamp River to experience a great trip give us a call. Our toll free number is 1-866-839-8411 or cell 1-250-720-5449. The last 3 pictures are some of the fish pulled out yesterday December 15th. This could be you. Hope to see you for a days fishing. Till then, Happy Holidays and all the best for 2009.

Fishing Report for October 20th 2008.

I would like to dedicate this report to my wife. She is heading over seas for 7 weeks so I was happy to have spent a great day on the river with her.

And as she is telling everyone, she did outfish me that day.

The Steelhead season is officially underway with some great fishing happening the past week. Yesterday and the day before were great with well over 20 steelies on the line and with more salmon spawning daily it should stay busy. Numbers through the falls counter report over 400 since September, with many more that I had the chance to fish over throughout the summer. Most fish are silver with lots of energy jumping multiple times when hooked. As November approaches we will start to see our first winter runs entering the system. The past 2 years have enabled our customers to see some of these early winter fish to be caught around the first week of November. This year should see the results of more winter steelhead production so comparing to the summers we should have a great season. For a great trip call us today. The Stamp is world famous and many stories and dreams have been made over a beautiful steelhead charging down the river. Our toll free number is 1-866-839-8411 or cell 1-250-720-5449. Look for an update in November, till then good luck on the flow.

Fishing Report for October 8th 2008.

I would first like to thank every one for taking part in an incredible month of fishing on the Stamp River.

The fishing has truly been excellent with some bigger than normal Coho hitting the river. Our biggest Caught by "Fred Biddlecombe" tipping the scale at 20.12 pounds. I will have a picture on the next report.

The water has come up with the rain and the coho were biting spinners quite well yesterday as well as chinook. Before that I had been seeing lots of Steelhead waiting for these salmon to spawn so November should be an amazing month to catch the prize of the Stamp. There are still fish entering daily and should continue through the end of the month.

We are starting to gear up for the Nitinat River and will fish for about 2 weeks before heading back to start the long steelhead season. These fish on average are a bit bigger than the Stamp Coho and you have a chance on every trip to catch a 20 pounder. With the number or Coho back this year and the size, I am anticipating a good return to the Nitinat as reports of Coho around everywhere this year is very promising.

Don't forget to book your trip for the last bit of Salmon and for the upcoming Steelhead season. Give us a call. 1-866-839-8411 or 1-250-723-0136.

Fishing Report for September 5 2008

Salmon Fever Hits the Stamp!

Higher water and good numbers makes it for a great start to the fall fishery. The past week and a half has seen lots of Coho and Chinook stretching from the bottom to the top of the Stamp River.

Lots of action and not much for crowds makes this truly a paradise to fish in. The fish are bright chrome right now and lots with sea lice on them letting us know how fast they are entering the river. Good tides in the lower Somass are also a plus this week for great numbers. Today saw some great movement with fish coming by the boat for a couple hours. The fish were in great shape and of good size. September is here and good fishing is on the door step. Call us for a great trip. 1-866-839-8411 or 1-250-720-5449.

Fishing Report for Wednesday July 30, 2008

Looks like a pretty good start to the summer steelhead season. With fish in the lower and upper reaches things look very promising. With things things only to get better some great days are ahead. Shorts and T-shirt fishing, what can be better? With the water low and clear these fish are quite energetic and are on the surface and out of the water. Light tackle is a real treat as you can feel the explosiveness of these prize fish. Each day is different as the fish seem to be moving around so you don't know where you will catch them. As August rolls on we will start to see some Chinook and Coho mixed in and that is always fun catching the first one of the season in the fresh water. We have availability this month and some after Labour Day Weekend and then we are into October for bookings. Don't miss out on a great time. We are anticipating a surplus of Chinook and Coho so limits should be good. Give us a call to book your trip on our toll free number. 1-866-839-8411. I will add another report in the next few weeks as things really heat up. Till then Tight Lines!

Fishing report for Monday February 25th/2008.

With February almost gone, the warmer weather and longer days are here. Some tough fishing all in all but positive fishermen willing to stick it out have been rewarded.

March could be a definite turn around as in the past it has provided some excellent fishing so keep your fingers crossed and look for an update earlier in the month. The past week has had a few fish come in but definitely an improvement. Not the numbers we have been looking for but still some grindy days.

We are starting to get some interest for the summer steelhead fishing which takes place in late July through August. Our local paper released some insight on this year for salmon and it looks to be another great year for Coho and around the similar number of Chinook. Don't forget to book as some key times are already spoken for. Good luck on future fishing trips.

Brad rewarded after a great drift.

Weekly fishing report. January 9th 2008.

Happy New year to everyone. All the best in 08. Good luck on all your fishing trips.

Sorry for the delay on the newest fishing report. Fishing has been extremely busy with the boats heading out daily. The end of December saw lots of holiday traffic on the water. The crowds have thinned for now and as we have seen some decent days in the past couple of weeks the fishing has been spotty. It is the time of year when we are doing both lower jet trips or upper trips out of the drift boat. The first wave of fish to enter are hanging out at Stamp Falls pool and sneaking to the upper reaches. The water levels have been from high to low and are getting to a low level again. All in all a good start to the season from the first sign of these beauties from December and we are hoping January will pick up. Trips are filling up daily so don't forget to book. Call our toll free number.(1-866-839-8411) Cell (1-250-720-5449) See you in a couple weeks. Tight Lines!
